Flooding in Fort Worth!

While we don’t have the rain totals quite yet for June, April and May already blew last years totals out of the water (see what I did there?). April of last year we got 0.77 inches of rain, this year we got 6.78! In May of last year, we got 1.87 inches of rain, and this year we got 8.15! How wild is that? No wonder we felt like we were under water for a good portion of the spring.

Rainy seasons like that are why it’s important that we are prepared for the rainy season and the flash flooding that can come with it. Be sure to stay aware of your surroundings at all times when the rains come – especially like the ones we’ve had the last couple of weeks where it’s been literal sideways rain.

When you get the alert for a flash flood in your area, get to higher land. And if you see a flooded roadway, turn around and don’t drown!
